Welcome to the Learning Through the Arts blog of the San Diego Unified School District’s Title I Arts Integration Initiative.
Mission:
The mission of the Title I Learning Through the Arts program is to transform school culture and climate through and with the arts.
Vision:
Participating students will experience high quality arts opportunities in the performing, visual and media arts. Teachers in the program will implement rigorous arts integration strategies in partnership with artists in their classrooms to support the four cornerstones of the Title I program: improving student academic achievement, student engagement, school climate, and parental involvement. The Learning Through the Arts integration program supports literacy, math, and science strategies and is aligned with the National Core Arts Standards, Common Core State Standards, and the Next Generation Science Standards.
